Head of Care/Registered Manager
Salary £40,330 (Band B) per annum
(40 Hours per week to include weekends, evenings and nights plus participation in an on call rota)
Bluebell Wood is a registered charity dedicated to the provision of hospice and community care for life limited children and their families from South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, North Lincolnshire and North Derbyshire. We are currently providing respite, palliative and bereavement care and sibling support to over 70 families in the community. The hospice will open its doors to children and families in September this year.
This post provides the opportunity to make a real difference to the children and families we care for. This is a key role and the successful applicant will be responsible for managing the Care Team and have the responsibilities attached to the Registered Manager element of the post and the statutory requirements this involves.
You will need to be a strategic thinker working with the Chief Executive and the hospice team to support the development of the hospice, enjoy working as a team player and demonstrate excellent leadership, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. Previous experience of caring for children with life limiting/life threatening illnesses and their families is essential.
The successful applicant must have held a senior nursing post for a minimum of three years and must be RSCN or RN (Child) and educated to degree level. Community experience is desirable. You will need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the clinical needs of children using the hospice services.
Under the Care Standards Act 2000 all employees of BBW must undergo an enhanced disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau.
