Our hospice

Theo Marta Hospice

At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, we care for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions, as well as their families.

We currently support children and their families, both in their own homes and at our hospice in North Anston, Sheffield.

Our hospice, which is surrounded by six-and-a-half acres of land, first opened its doors in 2008. We have eight beautifully decorated bedrooms and accommodation for family members. At the heart of our building is our relaxing lounge and dining area; we also have a sensory room, messy play area, a cinema room and much more.

Our motto is ‘living with love and laughter’ and every day we create special memories for children, young adults and families who visit us, which they can treasure for life. We give families the chance to relax, take a break and just have fun!

It costs over £4 million a year to keep our doors open, and we receive just 10% of our funding from statutory government sources. Everything else is funded by the amazing work that our supporters do; whether they run, bake or cycle their way to tot up their fundraising sponsorships.

All of our services are completely free to children and families referred to Bluebell Wood.

We’re so happy that our ‘Caring’ was rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC, you can read our full CQC inspection report here.
