£15,273 – £16,208 per annum pro rata

15 hours per week (flexible) (Monday to Saturday)


About us:

At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, we care for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions. We are currently supporting around 250 families, both in our hospice and in family homes.


Our support services are wide ranging and bespoke to each family; including end of life treatment and care, music therapy, counselling, sibling support groups, home visits and much, much more. It costs more than £4m to keep our doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond. We receive around 10% of our funding from government sources.


The challenge:

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Shop Manager to join our Bakewell Shop. The successful applicant will be self-motivated, positive and will make an immediate impact, be flexible with hours and enthusiastic.


Bluebell Wood receives around 10% in statutory funding and we need to raise in excess of £4 million annually. Our shops are a vital income stream for us, as well as an effective marketing tool and point of contact for our supporters.


The role:

As a key member of the retail team you will support the Shop Manager in the effective management and development of the shop in a framework of excellent customer service, profit maximisation, teamwork and health and safety.


The requirements:

If you are a committed team player and able to offer a positive and flexible approach we would love to hear from you. Suitable relevant experience of working in the retail or service sector is essential. You will have experience of supervising a team of staff/volunteers in a customer focused environment, and will be familiar with computerised retail systems and cash-handling procedures. You will be a good communicator and have a positive and proactive approach to the role. You must be available to work regular weekends.
