Staying at the hospice

At Bluebell Wood, we often refer to our respite services as ‘short breaks.’ These are stays with us which can vary from a night, a week, or longer, depending on what works best for you and your family.

While you’re here you’ll be treated to our delicious home-cooked meals, meaning you can spend more time together as a family, creating special memories. Whether you want to take a stroll around our gardens, curl up with a movie in our cinema room, or organise a trip out, our Care Team can help you make the most of your time with us.

During your stay you’ll notice that our hospice doesn’t look like a typical healthcare setting. You and your child will both have your very own en-suite room, which you can fill with your child’s favourite toys, posters, or bedding. Each room also has a private terrace, so you can sit outside for breakfast as a family, or enjoy watching the sun set.

Our children’s and young adults’ bedrooms are also equipped with hoists and piped oxygen, as well as a sofa bed so you have to option to sleep by your child’s side.

However you decide to spend your short break with us, we want our hospice to be a home from home. Our Care Team are on hand 24 hours a day, so you can unwind and recharge your batteries, knowing your child is being looked after.
