It’s a Bluebell Wood knockout

Fun, laughter and foam have put Bluebell Wood on course to raise £20,000 from its fifth annual ‘It’s a Knockout’ event.

Over 200 people turned up at Dinnington Rugby Club to run, bounce and fall over on inflatable obstacle courses in the time honoured fashion of the 1970s hit TV show.

With crazy costumes, giant foams and slides awaiting the 18 competing teams, Team ‘Shredders’ from the New Whittingham Social Club took home the ‘It’s A Knockout’ 2017 title, with second and third places awarded to CEMEX and Amazon.com.

It’s hoped that funds raised for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions will be near to £20,000 target once all sponsorship money is in.

Jo Berry, Events Organiser, Bluebell Wood: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to the many friends, families, businesses and clubs that put teams forward for It’s a Knockout this year. We’re all about living with love and laughter at Bluebell Wood and the day gave everyone involved a chance to do that brilliantly.

“All the money raised will all go towards helping families across South Yorkshire to make special memories, both here at the hospice and in their own homes.”
