Bluebell Wood will be hosting its sixth annual ‘It’s a Knockout’ event at Dinnington Rugby Club on Saturday 30 June, and there are still a limited number of team places left for anyone who fancies a madcap day out.
Among the teams so far lined up to wear crazy costumes and tackle inflatable obstacle courses, using props that were part of the original BBC TV programme, are:
- Alhambra Shopping Centre, Barnsley
- Insight, IT products and services provider, Sheffield
- Maltby Police
- New Whittington Social Institute, Chesterfield (last year’s winners)
- Robins and Day Peugeot, Sheffield
- Today’s Wholesale Services, Doncaster
The event, which will feature giant foams and slides for teams to run, bounce and fall over on, aims to raise as much as possible for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions.
This year’s spectacular is going a step even better than before with a half time mini ‘It’s a Knockout for Kids’ and lots of activities for families and friends, including a barbecue, and a bar in the club house.
David Lee, New Car Sales Manager, Robins and Day Sheffield, said: “We decided to support Bluebell Wood this year because it’s a very good local charity that does excellent work for children in and around South Yorkshire. We have a ‘One Team’ culture at the dealership and when there’s something we can do that involves people from the various departments we normally go for it. When the ‘It’s A Knockout’ event came up we thought this was perfect for us. Everyone is really looking forward to the event, including family and friends who will be coming along to give us some much needed support.”
Rachel Hodges, Senior Events Organiser, Bluebell Wood: “This is going to be a brilliant day out, and will give everyone a chance to have loads of fun while raising valuable funds for Bluebell Wood. Every pound of sponsorship will help us deliver more of the services our families need, and help them to live with love and laughter.
“If giant parrot costumes, bouncy castles and mountains of foam are your thing, there are still a few team places left, so get in touch with us quickly for more details.Everyone who enters a team of ten adults will get five free child places in It’s a Knockout for Kids.”
To celebrate Bluebell Wood’s 10th Birthday year, Bluebell Wood is offering entry at a discounted rate of £700 per team of ten people, so each team member only has to raise £70, or even less, if their employer offers matched fundraising.
