Sheffield-based Bluebell Wood is Meadowhall’s chosen charity for 2016/17 with both staff and retailers working to raise much-needed funds for the children’s hospice which cares for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions.
Alex Caley, Events Manager at Meadowhall said: “The Gruffalo is an amazing story and character that young children just adore; it seemed a perfect fit for children from Bluebell Wood to come and enjoy a special visit with him whilst he is at Meadowhall.”
Gemma Davis, mum of Lilly-Mai, who visits Bluebell Wood for respite care, said: “Lilly-Mai had a wonderful time meeting the Gruffalo and it was lovely to see her look so excited. We’d like to thank Meadowhall and Bluebell Wood for giving us such a fun experience. I’m sure Lilly-Mai will be talking about this for weeks to come.”
Following the success of last year’s Easter holidays event, The Gruffalo Experience returned for a second year helping parents keep young children entertained during the summer holidays.
The interactive event gives youngsters the opportunity to step into the pages of the world famous children’s book by Julia Donaldson, in a fun-filled journey into the deep dark wood where they meet all the much-loved characters, Owl, Snake and Fox, and, of course, The Gruffalo himself.
Running until 31st August this ‘edutainment’ experience is brought to you by Unit 10 Eventive and Macmillan Publications.
Tickets are available to purchase from Meadowhall’s website.
