Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice is hoping pantomime fans will dig deep to help boost its funds this festive season.
Bluebell Wood has been chosen again as this year’s charity to benefit from the Mansfield Palace annual Christmas pantomime, Aladdin.
The pantomime will see Philip Martin Brown of Waterloo Road fame playing the role of villain Abanazar and children’s TV presenter and actor, Chris Edgerley who will be playing the title role of Aladdin.
The Mansfield Palace Theatre will be holding 62 show stopping performance between Saturday 28th November through to Sunday 3rd January. Bluebell Wood is currently looking for friendly volunteers who will be able to spare a little time to cover eight of the performances.
Volunteers will be manning the doors at each of the performances, where people can drop loose change into their buckets.
The charity which cares and supports children and young adults with life-shortening and their families currently supports ten children and their families in the North Nottinghamshire area.
Russell Hall, community fundraiser at Bluebell Wood, said: “For us to know that we have such support from Mansfield Palace Theatre is amazing.
“We are here to help create special memories for our children, as well as offer specialist care, and with their help we’re able to continue our work 365 days a year.”
Mansfield Theatre quote: “Mansfield Palace Theatre share similar aims with Bluebell Wood. Both the Theatre and Hospice are places filled with laughter and love, giving families the chance to relax, take a break and have fun. We are extremely proud of the £22,766 raised from Panto bucket collections during the past four years and look forward to supporting such a worthwhile cause again in 2015.”
