Looking for some epic family fun this summer? Bluebell Wood’s spectacular Dragon Boat adventure is coming to Wath-upon-Dearne this August.
Whether you want to just go and cheer, or get your own team together, you’re invited to join the spectacular fun of the Bluebell Wood Dragon Boat Race on Manvers Lake on Saturday 12 August. With tombolas, face painting and a prosecco van, the all-day event is promising something for everyone.
A splash-tastic day out for friends, families or work colleagues, the Dragon Boat Race organised by South Yorkshire’s only children’s hospice will see hundreds of enthusiastic racers paddle their way across the water to help raise valuable funds for the charity caring for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions.
It’s not too late to join in, as team places are still available, so anyone interested should get in touch with Jo Berry at Bluebell Wood as soon as possible.
Teams will include Sheffield-based manufacturer Loadhog, who are also the main sponsors of the event.
Martin Baker, Design Engineer, Loadhog, said: “This is a fantastic event for anyone happy to roll their sleeves up and get paddling and also a great day out for friends and family who want to spectate. Bluebell Wood is a charity close to many people’s hearts and we can’t wait to get wet for a good cause.”
Jo Berry, Events Fundraiser, Bluebell Wood, said: “If you’re looking for a fun, team building event with a competitive edge or want to see the awesome sight of multi-coloured, custom built Dragon Boats racing across Manvers Lake, come and join us. We’re looking forward to raising as much as we can to help families make special memories together.”
