Want a simple way to support World Earth Day this April? Bluebell Wood is asking everyone to look around their homes for any unwanted clothes or household goods to donate to its shops.
We’re on a mission to encourage everyone to recycle or re-use on World Earth Day on 22 April by giving their no-longer-needed items to a new home, and by buying the high quality pre-loved clothes on sale at our shops.
You can do your bit for the environment and help families facing the toughest of times by giving and buying clothing items, furniture and toys through one of our nine shops. We’re happy to collect donations of eight bags or more and will collect suitable household items for our furniture shop in Hellaby.
Rather than adding to the global waste problem, your old goods can go to new homes, with every penny helping to support children and young adults with life-threatening and life-shortening conditions across South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire and parts of North Lincolnshire.
Sunny Allison, Head of Retail, Bluebell Wood, said: “One of the easiest ways we can all do our bit for World Earth Day is by cutting down on waste, which means re-using or re-cycling things we already own, and buying pre-loved items wherever possible. Our stores have a reputation for high quality fashion at a fraction of the original price, with evening wear, men’s suits, bridal wear and prom dresses just some of the collections available.
“Giving away items you don’t need any more gives someone else the chance to enjoy them, stops them going to landfill and helps you to clear away your clutter. All the money we raise from our fashion, furniture, books and toys at our shops helps our children and families to make special memories together, and helps us to provide the support they need.”
