Among the first acts confirmed to perform at the family friendly music festival in Dronfield on 4 August 2018 are Doomsday Outlaw, described as ‘a ten-legged Armageddon machine rolling out of darkest Derbyshire, spitting heavy riffs and heavier grooves in all directions’.

Also performing will be Jungle Lion, the 12-piece SKA and reggae band from Sheffield. With six horns and five vocals, the band describe themselves as ‘all about good times, party atmosphere and lots of dancing.’

Early bird tickets for the event are now on sale, with proceeds from the day raising funds for Bluebell Wood and other local charities.

The community festival, known for showcasing musical talent from across Derbyshire and Sheffield, has raised more than £85,000 for charity over the last 19 years.

Family friendly attractions on 4 August will include bouncy castles, inflatable games, face painting, ice cream and a children’s workstation, as well as a treasure hunt. There will also be food and drink stalls and massages, hair stylists, a clairvoyant, henna tattoos and a tombola. All proceeds from drinks sales will go to the nominated charities.

Festival organiser, John Aspinall said: “The new venue last year proved to be a hit with visitors, and we hope to build on the success of the event again. This year we have a very strong line-up of local talent, revisiting the original roots of the festival, and we’re sure that our customers will have a blast as usual. We’ve kept the ticket prices static this year, once again providing unrivalled value for money and there’s still time to get discounted early bird tickets. With adult tickets at £14 for 17 top acts throughout the day that’s great value, great music and great times.”

Early bird tickets are available until 20 May, priced at £14 per adult including one child aged 8-15, £10 for over 65s and £5 for children aged 8-15. Under eights get in free if accompanied by an adult. To buy tickets please visit dronfest.co.uk/#tickets
