It’s nearly time for the roar of dragons again. Bluebell Wood’s splash-tastic Dragon Boat Race will be back, bigger and better, in Wath-upon-Dearne on Saturday 11 August.
Spectators are invited to go along and cheer on the spectacular sight of Dragon Boat Racers making their way across Manvers Lake in custom built dragon boats between 10am and 3pm. Every penny raised on the day will help families across the region facing the toughest of times.
A fun-filled day out for families and friends alike, people will have the chance to walk on water with giant inflatable Zorb balls. There will also be live music, huge dancing Chinese dragons, fairground rides, inflatables, face painters, a fully licensed bar and stone-baked pizza truck where people can design their own pizzas.
Rachel Hodges, Senior Events Fundraiser, Bluebell Wood, said: “This year’s Dragon Boat Race is shaping up to be phenomenal. Thanks to the generous backing of one of our corporate supporters Capita this year’s event will be even bigger and better than before.
“Every penny raised will help us offer even more of the services that make a difference to families, from music therapy and arts and crafts to counselling and end of life treatment and care.”
