Staff at Insight UK’s Sheffield office are fired up to fundraise for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, with wing-walks, skydives and the Bluebell Wood Colour Dash just a few of the activities they’ve planned for 2017.
The global provider of hardware, software, cloud and service solutions has chosen South Yorkshire’s only children’s hospice as its charity of the year for 2017/18 and already has over a dozen fundraising initiatives in the pipeline.
As well as being the main sponsor of the Bluebell Wood Colour Dash on 29 April, Insight UK will have over 100 employees running, walking or jogging through the five colour stations that day. Among other events, another 17 members of staff will be taking part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge in June, a team competing in the Bluebell Wood Dragon Boat race in August, whilst three teams will take part in Bluebell Wood’s Soapbox Derby this September.
Beyond their sporting endeavours, the Insight UK team has volunteered at the children’s hospice, held raffles at work and donated over 70 bags of clothes since January 2017 with a Bluebell Wood donation box in their offices.
James Wenninger, UK Finance Director at Insight, said: “Insight is delighted to be working in partnership with Bluebell Wood. All our teammates have been incredibly excited by the phenomenal work of this amazing charity and we have already seen real engagement from our whole business. We look forward to raising awareness, some great fundraising activities and having lots of fun together.”
Rachel Dawes, Corporate Fundraising Manager, Bluebell Wood: “We’re really impressed at the enthusiasm and dedication that Insight’s people have already given. This will help to make a huge difference to the work we do with families and children across South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire and parts of North Lincolnshire. Of the £4 million we need to keep our doors open, we need to raise 90% from our community and corporate supporters, so every penny raised really matters.”
