Record numbers attended Sheffield and Hallamshire Motor Club’s Brough Rough N event at Brough near Bradwell, with entry fees, a raffle and refreshments all helping to boost funds for South Yorkshire’s only children’s hospice.

Described as ‘a trial like no other’, one big, off-road lap gave bikers the chance to test their skills on a range of easy to difficult off-road sections.

With Sheffield and Hallamshire Motor Club raising more than £2,500 for Bluebell Wood at its three previous Brough Rough N off-road events, the total raised by the Club to date is nearly £5,000.

Lucy Rathbone, Community Fundraiser, Bluebell Wood, said: “It was an amazing day that saw a record attendance of all the four years the Club has been doing it. Organiser Jonny and the whole group have been brilliant supporters of Bluebell Wood and really go over and above for us.

“We’d like to say a huge thank you for such dedication and support. Every penny raised helps to make a real difference to children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions, both here at our hospice and in family homes.”
