If you’re a business or community group in Derbyshire looking for a different or exciting fundraising idea, Lucy Rathbone is your person.
Lucy has joined Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice as its Community Fundraiser for Derbyshire and Chesterfield, bringing events experience from both the commercial and charity sectors.
An Events Management and Tourism graduate from Sheffield Hallam University, Lucy joins Bluebell Wood from a global drinks manufacturer where she managed its events programme. She also volunteered at another hospice during one of her years at university, using her work there to deliver a project on charity fundraising.
Lucy said: “Fundraising has been my passion for the last few years and it’s really exciting to join the fantastic Bluebell Wood team and not only develop my career here, but also use what I’ve already learned to ultimately support families and children facing the toughest of times.
“Our motto at Bluebell Wood is ‘living with love and laughter’ and making precious memories for children every day. Every penny we raise makes a huge difference, so I’m really enjoying getting to know people, businesses and community groups across Derbyshire to help grow our profile and devise new ways of raising funds towards the £4 million we need every year to keep our doors open.”
