Storytellers sprinkle their magic at Bluebell Wood

There was plenty of laughter to go round when Starlight Storytellers made a fun-filled visit to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

Performing well-loved children’s classics, The Three Little Pigs, The Three Musketeers and The Princess and the Pea, the cast sang and danced for families at South Yorkshire’s only children’s hospice for the afternoon.

Starlight Children’s Foundation is a national charity that grants wishes for children with life shortening conditions across the UK. Its Starlight Storytellers Tour came to Bluebell Wood as part of an eight-week long tour of children’s wards and hospices across the country.

Neil Swan, Chief Executive, Starlight Children’s Foundation: “Starlight’s activities aim to bring storytelling entertainment to families facing the toughest of times across the UK. Our adaptations of children’s classics are full of fun and designed to help people laugh and cheer, so we hope everyone at Bluebell Wood enjoyed our show.”

Emma Doughty, Head of Family Support and Wellbeing, Bluebell Wood, said: “Our motto at Bluebell Wood is ‘living with love and laughter’ and the visit from Starlight Storytellers definitely helped us do that. There is nothing like a good story to capture a child’s imagination and our children had a wonderful time listening to and watching the fabulous performance. We’d like to say a big thank you to the cast for coming to see us, giving us their time and talents and putting lots of smiles on all our faces.”
