Supercars rev up again for Bluebell Wood

Anyone who fancies experiencing some of the world’s most exclusive cars and supporting Bluebell Wood should head to Meadowhall on Saturday 12 May 2018, when The Supercar Experience returns, even bigger and better, for a third year.

In return for a charity donation, people will have an opportunity to sit or even take a spin in a supercar. Supercar Driver and Meadowhall are hoping to beat last year’s incredible total of £22,000 for Bluebell Wood with a fantastic selection of cars from the world’s premier automotive manufacturers, including Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche and many more.

The Supercar Experience will run from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 12 May, in the Orange car park near The Oasis Dining Quarter and Vue Cinema. Each person will be asked to make a £2 donation to enter the display of the very best sports and supercars in the world.

Over the last seven years, Supercar Driver, the UK’s leading supercar members’ club, has raised over £97,000 for Bluebell Wood. As well as raising over £30,000 from the first two Supercar Experiences at Meadowhall, Supercar Driver has supported Bluebell Wood at a series of eye-catching events every year, including ‘secret meets’ of supercar owners, and visits to the children’s hospice in North Anston.

Darren Pearce, Meadowhall Centre Director, said: “Following the success of last year’s event, we are delighted to bring an even bigger and better spectacle back to Meadowhall with the hope of raising more funds for Bluebell Wood. We have some big car lovers in Sheffield and we hope to welcome even more families to enjoy this fun-filled, action-packed event.”

Adam Thorby, Director at Supercar Driver, said: “We’re delighted to bring The Supercar Experience back to Meadowhall for a third year. It’s always a hugely popular event and it’s a real pleasure to raise so much for Bluebell Wood. Seeing the look on children’s and adults’ faces when they sit in the cars is fantastic. I’d like to thank all our Supercar Driver members for helping to make this event possible.”

Julie Hampson, Corporate Fundraiser at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, said: “We’re really grateful to Supercar Driver for helping to make a difference to our families. Every pound raised helps our families to make special memories together, helping us to provide services ranging from music therapy and counselling to sibling support groups and end of life treatment and care.”
