Decorators, joiners, project managers and other staff have given up their weekends to refurbish the common room, computer room and bathroom at the North Anston charity that supports families facing the toughest of times.
The family business has donated all the fixtures, fittings and other materials to create a new common room. Booths, chalkboards, trainsets and lots of other toys are now there for Bluebell Wood children to play with.
Comic strip wallpaper featuring superheroes such as Spiderman is now an eye catching feature of the computer room. The main bathroom has been completely refurbished with twinkling lights above the bath. This work and other fundraising by contractor Togel has been worth £8,307 to Bluebell Wood.
Katie Gillott, Marketing and Sales Coordinator, Togel, said: “We decided to start fundraising for Bluebell Wood a couple of years ago, partly because a few of our employees have had a personal or family involvement and we know what fantastic support the charity offers people in their hour of need. The staff and children there are amazing.
“We’ve bought Christmas cards and our employees have donated bags of clothes for Bluebell Wood in the past, but we knew we could offer our services free of charge too. Four of our decorators and two joiners helped out in their own time and two of our sub-contractors, Select Electrical and Davenport Upholstery, very kindly donated time and materials at no cost. It has been a pleasure to be involved and we hope the families and staff at Bluebell Wood enjoy their new facilities.”
Andrew Drury, Facilities Manager, Bluebell Wood, said: “I’d like to say a huge thanks to Togel, their employees and both sub-contractors for being so generous with their time and support. The rooms have been given a great new lease of life and look incredible. We need to make every penny count at Bluebell Wood and by saving us the cost of this refurbishment, Togel has helped us put more resource towards supporting our children and young adults.”
