Over 120 golfers took part in the tenth annual Universal golf day at Hillsborough Golf Club, raising £5,500 for the charity that cares for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions.
Great golf swings and putting action saw winning team Loxley Driving Range coming home with an impressive 89 points at the end of a day that included nearest the pin, longest drive and ‘hit the green to double your money’ challenges.
Steve Manley, Director, Universal Office Products, said: “I’m a keen golfer, as are many of our customers, so we really enjoy our annual Universal golf day and doing our bit for worthwhile causes. The day was excellent. The weather was good, Hillsborough Golf Club was a fantastic venue and the course was in amazing condition.
“We’re delighted to have raised £5,500 for Bluebell Wood, which does so much for families across this region. Universal is part of their 365 Business Club, so I have toured the hospice in North Anston and seen for myself just what an amazing job everyone there does.”
Julie Hampson, Corporate Fundraiser, Bluebell Wood, said: “We’re so pleased that Universal Office Products chose us as their charity for their tenth annual event and would like to thank all the competitors and supporters for helping to raise a record amount. This will go to fantastic use helping children and young adults create special memories with their families, both here at the hospice and in their own homes.”
