International firm XPO Logistics is giving its all for families supported by Bluebell Wood.
Colleagues from the Barnsley site have thrown themselves into fundraising for families across the region facing tough times. Teams of volunteers have helped with the gardening at the children’s hospice and are taking part in events around the community.
The company is one of many organisations competing to raise as much as possible for Bluebell Wood in this year’s Master Cutler’s Challenge. Its support so far has also included teams volunteering at Alhambra Shopping Centre, Barnsley, at the Supercar Experience at Meadowhall, taking part in the charity’s Jail and Bail event, holding a Summer Slam Festival and even flying down the world’s fastest zip wire at Velocity in North Wales.
XPO Logistics is also a member of Bluebell Wood’s 365 Business Club, which, in return for their support, gives corporate members a range of networking opportunities and priority access to Bluebell Wood events.
David Hall, Corporate Fundraiser, Bluebell Wood, said, “We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at XPO Logistics for all their support and enthusiasm. From helping to get our wonderful gardens into shape in time for summer and agreeing to be locked up for the day, to collecting bags of clothes and organising events to raise money for Bluebell Wood, all of this means a huge amount to our families and will make a big difference. Every penny raised helps Bluebell Wood families to live with love and laughter and make every moment count, however long they have left together.”
Malcolm Wilson, CEO, XPO Logistics Europe, said: “We’re committed to supporting the communities where we live and work, and helping those less fortunate. I’m proud of our Barnsley colleagues who gave their time to make a difference for the families supported by Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.”
