Corporate → Sainsbury's
Bluebell Wood has worked with Sainbury’s since July 2008, when the hospice was adopted by 19 stores covering a geographical area from Grimsby to Mansfield. The partnership was so successful that Sainsbury’s introduced the idea of a “chosen charity” nationally as a marketing campaign. Activity included:
- Monthly “Bag it Up” days at Sainsbury’s sites which were publicised in-store
- Stores held monthly “charity weekends” where staff sold merchandise, and recycled printer cartridges and mobile phones
- Banners announcing partnership were displayed at participating stores Sainsbury’s staff held their own sponsored events such as bungee jumps
Crispin Om, Store Manager of Sainsbury’s in Worksop comments on how successful the partnership has been:
“At Sainsbury’s our partnership with Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice has had many positive effects on our business. Collectively, it has brought together 19 store teams to focus on our target.
“Colleagues have been inspired to reach achievements none of them thought possible. The partnership has supported our customer interaction as through this we have worked together with our customers to raise funds for Bluebell Wood.
“Our biggest win has been the morale boosting achievement of realising our potential to make a difference to a special charity that will always now be a part of us.”
