Dragon Boat Race and family fun day 2023

Bluebell Wood is returning to Manvers Lake for another exhilarating Dragon Boat Race! 

Gather your team of intrepid rowers (and drummer) and join us on Saturday 8th July 2023 out on the choppy waters.

Each team will take part in timed heats, with the three fastest teams going head-to-head in a dramatic final to place 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

The event is free to spectators and they'll be lots of fun things for teams to enjoy in between races, as well as activities for the whole family. This includes children’s games, amusements, face painting and other attractions and stalls. We will also be running a barbecue, food stalls and a bar.  

About our Dragon Boat Race

• Teams can be made up of 16 - 18 paddlers plus one light drummer due to seat position (if you are struggling to fill a boat please get in touch as we can create a list of eager participants to fill a boat of individual rowers!)
• Each team will take part in timed heats, with the three fastest teams going head to head in a dramatic final!
• To take part, participants must be over the age of 18 (minimum height 130cm)
• Team entry is £500 per boat
• We encourage teams to make the most of the day and join in our activities or host their own stalls. We also love seeing teams get dressed up for the event - in the past we've seen pirates and Vikings take part!
