A local businessman is lacing up his trainers in support of Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice and a number of other fantastic causes.

Steve, who co-owns The Little Town of Play with his wife, is taking on an almighty nine 10K races across Yorkshire to raise money for charity.

His challenge is inspired by Little Town of Play staff members, who have each chosen a different cause for Steve to run for at each of the events.

From Cancer Research to Cavendish Cancer Care and Mind, Steve hopes to raise as much money as possible for the different charities. The Little Town of Play has even promised to donate 25p for every pound raised for each charity (up to £100).

His first stop is the Doncaster 10K on November 27th, where he'll be racing in aid of Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice - chosen by staff member Matilda.

He'll be cheered on all the way by his wife and sons, James and Noah.

Steve, 46, said: "The Dewsbury 10K runs across our Little Town of Play Batley site and I felt inspired to run again - and why not raise money for charity at the same time?"

"Training has gone well so far. I am up to eight or nine kilometres with no injuries. I'm really looking forward to the race.

"The mix of charities we will hopefully be able to help will mean something to our staff and it's especially nice to help some local charities, like Bluebell Wood."
