Chesterfield’s Bridgstock Group has made an incredibly generous £15,000 donation to Bluebell Wood as part of its annual charity project.

The hospice, which supports children and families from across North Derbyshire, South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire, is “overwhelmed” by the Group’s generosity after such a challenging year.

The community-spirited Bridgstock Group is the parent of two companies based on the Chesterfield Trading Estate; leading UK pipe system manufacturer Peak Pipe Systems and its sister company Control Point, which provides quality assurance services and products to reduce leakage.

Both companies were the brainchild of Eric Bridgstock, a pioneer in polyethylene pipe jointing who sadly passed away in 2018.

His wife Petra, and their daughters Gemma, Helen and Ginnie, all maintain an involvement in the Bridgstock Group and said they are “delighted to make this donation to a local charity that is very close to our hearts.”

Matthew Sheridan, Regional Fundraiser for Bluebell Wood, said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to the Bridgstock Group for their overwhelming generosity which will help us make magical memories with local children and families.

“It’s been a challenging year in which much of our fundraising activity has been cancelled or postponed, so the kindness of phenomenal supporters like the Bridgstock Group is more important than ever.”

It costs almost £14,000 each day to keep Bluebell Wood’s doors open, and with only around 15 per cent of this coming from government sources, the charity is reliant on its supporters in the communities it serves.
