Care Administrator/Receptionist (Initial 12-month contract with potential to become permanent)

About us:

At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice we care for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions. We are currently supporting around 300 families both in our hospice and in family homes.

Our support services are wide ranging and bespoke to each family including end of life treatment and care, respite short breaks, counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy, home visits and much much more.  It costs more than £5m to keep our doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond. We receive around 15% of our funding from government sources.

The role:

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic administrator to join our small admin team.  The successful applicant will be self-motivated, positive and will make an immediate impact.  You will assist in providing a comprehensive and flexible administrative service across the hospice with a focus on supporting the Care Team and a welcoming reception for visitors.

The requirements:

A strong background in a varied administrative role and experience of effectively organising and minuting meetings is essential.  You will need to demonstrate that you are able to work flexibly on your own initiative and are able to meet challenging deadlines.

The role will involve working regular weekends on reception (on a rota basis) and occasionally providing reception cover up to 6.30pm midweek, in addition to covering Bank Holidays (on a rota basis).
