Care Administrator/Receptionist

 

Starting salary: £19,757 to £20,967

(dependent on skills and experience)

 

37.5 hours per week

Including regular weekend working

The challenge:

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic administrator to join our small admin team.  The successful applicant will be self-motivated, positive and will make an immediate impact.  You will assist in providing a comprehensive and flexible administrative service across the hospice with a focus on supporting the Care Team and a welcoming reception for visitors.

 

The role:

As a key member of the admin team you will undertake a wide range of administrative duties including providing administrative support to the Director of Care and the wider Care Team including regular minute-taking, maintaining the Care Team Database, producing and maintaining complex spreadsheets, dealing with confidential correspondence and transcribing audio dictation.  You will also provide a warm and welcoming reception service over the weekends, bank holidays and occasional evening cover, on a rota basis.

 

The requirements:

If you are a committed team player and able to offer a positive and flexible approach we would love to hear from you.  A strong background in a varied administrative role and experience of effectively minuting meetings and use of spreadsheets is essential.  You will need to demonstrate that you are able to work flexibly, on your own initiative, and are able to meet challenging deadlines.  You should also have an understanding of, or the desire to develop an understanding of, working with children and young people with a shortened life expectancy and their families/carers.  You must be available to work regular weekends on reception (on a rota basis) and occasionally provide reception cover up to 6.30pm midweek, in addition to covering Bank Holidays (on a rota basis).
