£33,386 to £35,430 dependent on experience

About us:

At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, we care for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions. We are currently supporting around 300 families both in our hospice and in family homes.

Our support services are wide ranging and bespoke to each family including end of life treatment and care, respite short breaks, counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy, home visits and much more.  It costs more than £4m to keep our doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond. We receive around 10% of our funding from government sources.

The role:

Our Nurses are at the heart of the outstanding home-based care we offer to children and young people with life-shortening conditions.  This includes short break respite care and urgent care including end of life support.  We want our nurses to spend quality time with each child and their family so that we provide truly personalised and holistic care and have lots of fun along the way.

Our community nurses also participate in our hospice on-call rota.  The post will involve working shifts in-house and being part of a service that delivers care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  As a result of this the job will involve working unsocial hours including bank holidays, nights and weekends.

The requirements:

As a Community Nurse you will be expected to be qualified to RN Child with a current NMC registration.  You will have knowledge and skills in technical nursing, with assessment and diagnostics skills. You will have extensive knowledge and expertise in caring for children and young people with life shortening conditions in a variety settings.

In return, we can offer you a fantastic working environment, company pension scheme, UK Health, free parking, 33 days annual leave, discounted meals and the satisfaction that you are providing a much appreciated service.

At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice we value everyone who works with us, embrace individual differences and recognise that great things happen when we work together.
