Losing a child is the hardest thing anyone will ever have to face, but when you’re at Bluebell Wood you won’t have to go through this alone.

We’re here to make sure that the end of your child’s life is as comfortable as possible, whether that’s at home, in hospital or at Bluebell Wood.

If you choose to stay at home we will work with your community and hospital nursing teams to offer nursing and medical care there.

Many families decide to come to the hospice for end of life care. We have two special suites called Primrose and Forget-me-not which will give you a private space to spend time together as a family and say your final goodbyes.

They both have a parents’ bedroom, a bathroom, a lounge area and small kitchen, and a specially cooled child’s bedroom. They also have separate private outside spaces. You can bring any of your child’s bedding, toys or special music from home if you want to.

During your stay, our Care Team will be there to answer any questions, and you will be able to see your child any time you want; day or night. You are also welcome to have friends or family members visit you too.

Our team will always be on hand to help with any funeral or other arrangements.

Memory making

Our Care Team can help you create some special keepsakes, and collect meaningful memories of your child, if you would like to. We can do this for you before or after your child passes away.

These keepsakes could include beautiful hand and foot moulds or prints, or a memory box of treasured items.
