An eight year old from Clay Cross is doing his bit for families facing the toughest of times by joining our Fun-draising Club.

Finley Williams, who goes to Park House Primary School, was inspired to join our fundraising group for children aged under-16 when his mum Nicola told him that she had chosen Bluebell Wood as the charity for her new nursery.

Not only has Finley already held a bake sale at school, with all cakes selling out, but he’s also organising a football match. Finley, who plays for Pilsley Under-8s Football Club, has organised the ‘lads vs dads’ charity football match where everyone will pay £5 to play and all children given a sponsor form. The event on 8 July will include sales of cakes and drinks and a competition to win a chocolate explosion.

The Bluebell Wood Fun-draising Club helps young people with ideas for raising money, by giving them tips, support and backing them all the way, whatever they choose to do.

Every penny Finley raises will help Bluebell Wood families make special memories together, from arts and crafts and music making to meeting unusual animals and special movie nights.

Mum Nicola said: “I was so pleased when Finley asked me about Bluebell Wood and then said he wanted to do his bit too. I’m really proud of the way he’s gone for it with his ideas. Hopefully his enthusiasm will see him go a long way.”

Lucy Rathbone, Community Fundaiser, Bluebell Wood, said: “We’re very excited to have Finley as one of our Fun-draising Club members and we’re delighted he wants to support Bluebell Wood. We’re sure he’ll have lots of fun with all his fundraising activities. We can't wait to hear how he gets on and find out all about his next plans.”

Once new members have made their first donation, Bluebell Wood sends each person a special fundraising pack with their own Fun-draising Club t-shirt.
