About us:

At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice we care for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions. We are currently supporting around 300 families both in our hospice and in family homes.

Our support services are wide ranging and bespoke to each family including end of life treatment and care, respite short breaks, counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy, home visits and much much more.  It costs more than £5m to keep our doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond. We receive around 15% of our funding from government sources.

The role:

Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice are looking for an enthusiastic individual, passionate about quality food, excellent customer service and with a genuine connection to the families we support. If you have previous catering and/or kitchen management experience with a relevant catering qualification (NHD, HCIMA) or equivalent and have the ability to provide strong leadership skills, we’d love to hear from you.

The requirements:

Required skills, experience and qualifications for this role:

  • Familiarity of catering for differing dietary needs, with a good knowledge of using seasonal food
  • Experience of front-line work with members of the public
  • Experience of catering for children and adults with restrictive diets
  • Experience of working with and supporting volunteers
  • Ability to take initiative to deal with day to day issues
  • Great interpersonal skills and a passion for hospitality
