Our wonderful trustees are from a wide range of career backgrounds. Their many skills and expertise help us keep offering the best possible care and support to children and families that need it.  Would you like to meet them?

Jon Lister

Jon decided he wanted to make a difference to a good cause after questioning what he would do if his own children needed help.

He is now Chair of Trustees and uses his experience as a chartered accountant to support our work.

“The best thing about being a trustee is knowing you are part of something that genuinely touches hearts and changes lives.”

Anne Fowlie

Anne was inspired to become a Bluebell Wood trustee after working with children who would have benefitted from hospice care.

She has a background in teaching and now helps teachers studying for Masters in Special Educational Needs. She is also a special school governor and volunteers with the Yorkshire Adoption Agency.

“I cherish being part of the Bluebell Wood family and the moments I can sit with families and young people we support.”

Steve Allen

Steve wanted to be one of our trustees as he had a personal connection through friends who got fantastic support from Bluebell Wood at a very difficult time in their lives.

He previously worked in IT management for 33 years and is now Vice Chair of Trustees.

“Being a trustee here is a real privilege. This is a wonderful cause and I want it to continue to give excellent support to families when they need it most.”

James Wenninger

James is proud to come from Sheffield and is passionate about making a difference to the community.

He is Finance and Commercial Director at Insight Direct and is also a chartered accountant.

“I love being able to support the organisation and contributing to helping and changing more lives.”

Keith Metcalf

Keith was interested in the challenges charitable organisations face and decided he wanted to use his skills to make a difference.

He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and the Chartered Management Institute. He was also a National Personnel Manager of Remploy, who employed 11,000 severely disabled people. From 2000 to 2014 he also ran his own HR Consultancy.

“The best thing about being a trustee is feeling that you are making a useful contribution to the work of Bluebell Wood.”

Richard Worth

Richard was inspired to work with Bluebell Wood after seeing how a family he knew benefited from respite and support.

He spent 25 years as a Consultant Physician together with various management responsibilities.

“It’s enormously rewarding to be part of an organisation that brings laughter and happiness to children and young people with life limiting illnesses and their families.”

Tricia Seymour

Tricia is passionate about contributing to the work of Bluebell Wood after a long career in paediatrics.

She has been a Consultant Paediatric since 2002 and is currently focussed on child safeguarding and working with children under local authority care.

“I am excited to be part of a team, contributing to the development of a service to children and young people with life limiting conditions and their families, that aspires to excellence in all areas.”

Our Trustees do amazing work for the hospice, but they aren’t the only ones. Would you like to meet more of our team?
