The big man himself will be jingling all the way to Crosspool and Dore this year for an extra special visit ahead of Christmas Day.

Santa, joined by his band of merry Elves, will be touring the streets of the two Sheffield suburbs in December, and he hopes to meet as many children as possible.

This year’s runs on December 11th and 12th will see Santa riding through the streets on his brightly decorated sleigh, playing classic Christmas songs to get everyone in the festive spirit.

Rumour has it the big man will also be bearing treats for those with a sweet tooth.

His helpers will be asking for donations along the way, with all proceeds going to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and Cavendish Cancer Care.

Gail Parkin, Community Fundraiser at Bluebell Wood, said: “We’re all very excited to see Santa and we’re hoping as many people as possible will come and say hello to the big man.”

“I’ve been lucky enough to have a sneak peek at Santa’s sleigh and I can tell you the children are in for a real treat.

“A huge thankyou to Hallamshire Round Table for arranging Santa’s visit and supporting Bluebell Wood.”

This will be the second year the Hallamshire Round Table’s Santa Sleigh has visited, after a hugely successful debut raised £1,400 for local charities.

Chris Pitchfork, Hallamshire Round Table Chairman, said: “Last year was fantastic and this year we’re hoping for an even better turnout.

“We’re very much looking forward to meeting everyone along the two routes.”
