When Vegas came to Worksop, Bluebell Wood hit the jackpot.

Around 56 people went along to Worksop Golf Club for a fun packed evening of games, raising £500 for children and young adults whose lives are just too short.

As well as chancing their luck at roulette and blackjack tables, guests could take part in a donkey derby, a ‘roll the potato at the bottle’, a golf putting game and play your cards right.

Entertainment came from singer Gary Coulthard, with a fundraising raffle, two quizzes and a pie and peas supper keeping guests busy.

Jim Delaney, Chairman of Bluebell Wood’s Worksop Support Group, said: “I’d like to say many thanks to our hosts Carol and David, who organised the evening and helped create a fantastic night, to the staff at Worksop Golf Club for looking after us brilliantly, and to everyone who volunteered for and supported the event. We’re delighted to have raised more funds for Bluebell Wood, a cause close to many of our hearts.”

Melanie Rose, Community Fundraiser, Bluebell Wood, said: “Every penny raised will help make a difference to families across our region, giving them the opportunity to make special memories together. We’re really grateful to our Worksop support group for coming up trumps and arranging another fantastic event in support of Bluebell Wood.”
