When will I hear about the outcome of my interview, and can I ask for feedback?

After your interview, we aim to get back to you with our decision as soon as possible. Depending on the time and date of our last interview, it may take us longer than usual to get back to you, so please bear with us.

We offer feedback to all interviewed candidates. This can be arranged by contacting our HR Team, who will forward your request to the hiring manager.

How can I prepare for my interview?

Before your interview, make sure you have a good look through the job description and person specification, and think of examples from your personal or professional experience where you have demonstrated the skills and experience we are looking for.
What is the interview process like?

Your interview will usually take place at our hospice in North Anston, however due to the current COVID-19 pandemic we are currently hosting many of our interviews on Microsoft Teams. You’ll meet at least three people on the day and have the chance to ask your own questions of the panel too. The interviews are competency-based, and you may also need to complete a test or presentation on the day, depending on the role you have applied for.
Can I get feedback on my application?

Unfortunately we are unable to give individual feedback to applicants not invited to interview due to the large amount of applications we receive across our vacancies.
How will I find out if my application has been successful?

We aim to inform all candidates of the outcome of their application within a week of the closing date. However, there may be times when the volume of applications means the shortlisting process takes longer than expected so please bear with us.
Can I send you my CV and covering letter?

We ask all applicants to complete an application form when they are applying for a role at Bluebell Wood. This is so our shortlisting panel can consider each applicant fairly, and compare candidates against our job description and person specification. Please do not attach CVs or covering letters to – or in place of - your application form as they will not be considered.
What qualifications do I need to work at a children’s hospice?

Qualifications, skills and experience required for vacancies across our clinical, fundraising, administrative, and support teams vary depending on the role we are looking to fill. Full details about the requirements for each role are included in the job description and person specification which you can download on the job vacancy page. If you have a specific question about a particular role, you’ll find contact details for the recruiting manager on each vacancy page too.
I’ve not worked in a children’s hospice before – what’s it like?

There are a lot of common misconceptions about what it’s like to work at a children’s hospice. Some people may think that it’s a sad place to work, but by reading our Staff Stories and watching our Virtual Tour, we hope you’ll realise that that isn’t the case. Bluebell Wood really is a fantastic place to work.
