Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice has thanked Hallamshire Round Table for its support and generosity after it raised £1,000 for the charity, delighting children in Dore and Crosspool in the process.

The festive haul came after kind-hearted Hallamshire Round Table volunteers brought Santa and his brightly decorated Sleigh to the suburbs for a special visit in December.

The big man and his helpers had a brilliant time meeting local children and their families, with supporters donating thousands to local charities along the way.

Chris Pitchfork, Hallamshire Round Table chairman, said: “Thank you to everyone that came out to support the Round Table Santa Sleigh in Sheffield this year.

“All our volunteers had a great time and thanks to your generosity, we have raised a fantastic amount for local charities.”

Sally Baker, Community Fundraising Manger at Bluebell Wood, said: “We’d like to thank the Round Table and all who came out to support the Santa Sleigh for their generosity.

“We’re incredibly grateful to have the support of such a fantastic local organisation which does so much to serve its community.

“The amazing sum raised for Bluebell Wood will help us to continue to make a difference to local families who are going through the most difficult of times.”

The Hallamshire Round Table is a voluntary men’s club for 18 – 45 year olds, which gives members the opportunity to make new friends, try new activities and support the local community.
