Our mission is to reach every family that needs our help, and to offer them the very best choice of care to suit their needs.

Our dedicated staff are at the very heart of this vision. By joining Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice you’re becoming part of our incredible story, helping us to make sure parents and carers have the chance to create magical memories with their child, no matter how long they have together.

Whether you’re a nurse bringing compassion and expertise to our care team, or you’re looking to apply your experience into a new role as one of our Fundraisers, you’ll be making a real difference to the lives of local families.

We value each and every person who works for us, and we promise to support you however we can from day one. Read on to find out exactly what we can offer you.

Annual leave

From day one, you’ll start with 33 days of annual leave, including bank holidays, with the option to buy and sell your leave.

Sick pay and health care

From the start of your employment, you will be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay. After six months, you will then be eligible to Occupational Sick Pay of up to 6 weeks full pay and 6 weeks half pay, rising to 12 weeks after two years continuous service.

Bluebell Wood is also a member of the UK Healthcare scheme, which means all staff can make use of cash back on healthcare services, as well as gym and retailer discounts, depending on your level of cover.

We also invest heavily in the mental wellbeing of our team, and all our staff can access free counselling sessions as part of our benefit package.

Pension scheme

If you are NMC registered and you are currently a member of the NHS Pension Scheme you can continue contributing to the scheme as long as you have been an active member of the scheme within the last 12 months and you re-join within three months of joining Bluebell Wood.

We also have a pension scheme for all other new starters which you will be auto-enrolled in (or you can elect to join, if you don’t meet the auto-enrolment criteria). This is a salary sacrifice scheme, where both you and Bluebell Wood contribute to your pension each month

Training and development

The skills, passion and commitment of our staff never ceases to amaze us. As a member of our team we will invest significantly in your personal and professional development. We know that you may come to Bluebell Wood with clear career goals in mind, and we’ll work with you to progress these goals and offer you opportunities for training and advancement.

And that’s not all…
