Some people may think that it’s a sad place to work, but by reading our Staff Stories and watching our Virtual Tour, we hope you’ll realise that that isn’t the case. Bluebell Wood really is a fantastic place to work. As soon as people walk through the door, they tell us the hospice is nothing like how they imagined it to be. Bluebell Wood is colourful, and full of love and laughter – you can often hear music and giggles echoing down the corridors! There’s always something fun happening – whether it’s an activity day, music therapy, or a parent and carer wellbeing group. The hospice genuinely feels like a home from home for families. It’s important for us to say that sad things do happen at the hospice; we do offer vital end-of-life care and bereavement support for families who need it. But along their journey with us, we’re there to help families create happy memories that they can treasure, and that’s what makes working at a children’s hospice so rewarding. Our entire team – including care, fundraising, administrative and support staff – all play a part, and we’re all incredibly privileged to do what we do.
