A community-spirited Rotherham business has helped Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice save thousands of pounds thanks to a kind-hearted gesture.

The charity approached Parseq – a Rotherham based Business Process Outsourcer - for a quote on bulk document scanning as it moves to a more digital storage model.

But the firm, which is a long-standing supporter of Bluebell Wood, waived the cost entirely.

Parseq has raised over £5,400 for the charity since 2016, the bulk of which came from a 50K sponsored walk where the firm’s managing director Craig Naylor-Smith joined Mick Gott from the facilities team to tackle the epic trek alongside the hospice’s regular canine visitor, George the dog.

Craig Naylor-Smith, Managing Director of Parseq, said: “Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice makes a real difference to the lives of children and young adults with life shortening illnesses. The care they provide to young people and their families is vital.

"We’re proud to support the charity’s invaluable work and play our part in the local community.”

Karlin Rodgers, Head of Finance at Bluebell Wood, said: “We’d like to thank Parseq for this incredibly generous gesture and for all their support over the years.

“The support of the local business community is very important to us as a charity, and each and every penny we save can instead be used to help families make precious memories together.”

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice supports children and young adults with life-threating and life-shortening conditions across South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and North Derbyshire.
