Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice is offering people the chance to win £2,500 while helping local families make precious memories together at Christmas.

The charity has just launched its Seasonal Superdraw, which this year is being backed by the family of Madison Sipson, 5, who are supported by Bluebell Wood.

Madison, a “real fighter” who was born with two holes in her heart, spent her first two Christmases in hospital. She’s since battled several serious health conditions.

“The first year after she was born, we hadn’t really had a Christmas as she was so poorly in hospital, which meant that her two brothers missed out too,” said mum Wendi Sipson.

“For her second Christmas, we wanted to have a really special time, but on 23rd December she was readmitted to hospital.

“We brought her home for half an hour on Christmas Day, but she took a turn for the worse so we had to take her back in.”

After she came home, Madison and her family were referred to Bluebell Wood for much-needed respite care.

Dad Gary Sipson said: “At first I thought – why on earth would we want to go there? But when I walked in, I realised it’s such a happy place.

“It’s so nice that Madi’s looked after so well, so that we can spend some time with the boys.

”For our family, Bluebell Wood has been so much help - along with the support of our family and friends - and I know if, when Madi was very poorly, we would have needed end of life care at Bluebell, we’d have been looked after so well.”

Tickets for the Seasonal Superdraw are on sale now at www.bluebellwood.org/superdraw or by calling 01909 517 365 and are £1 each.

Kelly Gerrard, Bluebell Wood’s Lottery Fundraiser, said: “Having a go on our Seasonal Superdraw is a fantastic way to support Bluebell Wood and help families like Madison’s when they need it the most.

“It really couldn’t be easier to take part - and you’d be making a real difference to local children and families.”

The Seasonal Superdraw will be drawn on December 17th  and there is also a luxury Christmas hamper up for grabs.
