Bluebell Wood is saddened to inform our supporters of the recent passing of John Holt.

The former Vice Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire and Bluebell Wood’s Chair of Trustees passed away on 30^th May.

John was an avid supporter of the hospice movement and supported Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice from its inception.

CEO of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, Heidi Hawkins, said:

“It was with so much sadness that we heard about John’s death. He was instrumental in the creation and development of Bluebell Wood, both the service and of course in identifying this site, through to the amazing building where we reside today, 15 years on.

“John was so passionate about our area having a sustainable service existing which would meet the needs of so many children and families.

“Bluebell Wood owes so much to John. It was my own pleasure to have worked directly with John, as our Chair, when I worked with Bluebell Wood from 2007 until 2013. We will remember him with respect and much fondness.”
