The family and friends of a kind and brave young man recently came together to organise a fundraising event in his memory.

Kind, loving and caring Reece passed away at Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice in 2021 after battling a brain tumour - throughout it all, he never lost his courage or sense of humour.

Almost a year after saying goodbye, the families of Reece's best friends Blake and Liam decided to hold a special fundraising event in his name. Sheffield United fan Reece loved playing and watching football, making a football tournament followed by a special evening the perfect tribute to him.

Reece's Day, held at Beighton Miner's Welfare, brought together the whole community and raised an astonishing amount of more than £2719. His family have already undertaken some amazing fundraising events.

Reece's family would like to say a huge thank you to Blake, Enya, Wayne, Leanne, Liam, Sarah and Richard for their efforts in organising such a successful event, for which they said Reece would be so "grateful and proud", including decorating the room in Sheffield United colours and playing the team's song. They also extend a huge thanks to the welfare club, stall holders, football players, volunteers and everyone who attended.
