Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice will be having their exciting, annual Dragon Boat Race and Family Fun Day at Manvers Lake on Saturday 8^th July.

14 teams are signed up so far to splash down and paddle their way through several heats to compete for first place. Amongst the teams taking part are last year’s winners, CrossFit Rotherham, who have entered two teams this time. Jane Petit from CrossFit Rotherham said:  "We were proud to win last year and have recruited a second team this year. The teams train regularly at CrossFit Rotherham and find that this really helps build strength and stamina for the races. We can’t wait to get back on the water again!"

The event will be great fun not just for the teams taking part but also for spectators who can watch and cheer the teams on as well as enjoying a host of family-friendly activities. 

The event is sponsored by fashion retailer, Boohoo Group Plc. Beth Cole, Events Fundraiser at Bluebell Wood said: "We’re looking forward to another fantastic Dragon Boat Race event and this one is set to be better than ever with lots of competitive teams taking part.
