Parkgate’s tree sculpture plants roots in new home at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice is delighted to welcome a striking new addition to its memory garden, thanks to the generosity of the team at Parkgate Shopping. The six-metre steel tree sculpture, which has welcomed visitors to Parkgate since 2018, has now been carefully relocated to the heart of Bluebell Wood's memory garden. The garden provides a peaceful and reflective space where families can remember and celebrate the lives of their loved ones. Created by renowned local sculptor Steve Mehdi, the bespoke artwork was originally inspired by Parkgate's former logo. Following the shopping park's rebrand in 2025, the team at Parkgate wanted to ensure the sculpture could continue to be enjoyed by the local community and chose Bluebell Wood as its new home. The relocation was made possible thanks to the support and expertise of Parkway Sheet Metals, H. Askey Transport, Bramley Construction and Landscape Ltd, and Holemasters Demtech Ltd, whose teams worked together to safely transport and install the sculpture within the hospice grounds. Heidi Hawkins, Chief Executive Officer at Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice, said: "We are delighted to welcome this beautiful sculpture to Bluebell Wood. Our memory garden is a very special place for many of the families we support, providing a space for reflection, remembrance and quiet moments together. The sculpture is a wonderful addition to the garden, and we know it will be appreciated by families for many years to come. "We are incredibly grateful to everyone at Parkgate for choosing Bluebell Wood as the sculpture's new home, and to all the businesses involved in making the move possible. Their generosity and support will help create an even more meaningful environment for the children, young people and families in our care." Mark Kanaris-Sotiriou, Senior Operations Manager at Parkgate Shopping, added: "We're incredibly proud to donate Parkgate's tree sculpture to Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice. The sculpture has been a familiar landmark for nearly a decade, and we're pleased it will continue to be enjoyed by the community in such a special setting. Bluebell Wood provides incredible care and support to children and families, and we're honoured to play a small part in enhancing their memory garden." Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice supports babies, children and young adults with life-shortening conditions, as well as their families, helping them make precious memories and providing care when it is needed most.
