Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice is celebrating after once again receiving the prestigious Rotherham Kitemark for excellence in managing volunteers.

The Kitemark - a quality accreditation run by a partnership between Voluntary Action Rotherham and the Rotherham Together Partnership – is designed to celebrate good practise among local organisations involving volunteers.

It also serves to give prospective volunteers the tools to make an informed decision about where they should give their time.

Bluebell Wood have held the highest classification, Kitemark Plus, for the past three years and have now been reapproved.

Terry Lowell, Volunteer Co-ordinator at Bluebell Wood, said: “We pride ourselves on ensuring that our wonderful team of volunteers have everything they need to get the most out of volunteering with Bluebell Wood.

“That’s why we are delighted to have been re-awarded the Rotherham Kitemark Plus.

“Our amazing volunteers are an integral part of what we do here at Bluebell Wood and it’s important they have the support they need to have the best possible experience.”
