Festive fun with Sheffield Steelers Sheffield Steelers helped the festivities fly when they called in to meet families at Bluebell Wood. The team took plenty of Christmas cheer on their visit to children, young adults and their families at the North Anston charity. The ice hockey team, which is part of the Elite Ice Hockey League and based at the FlyDSA Arena, was shown around the hospice and had photos taken with families. Alex Briggs, Social Media Manager for Sheffield Steelers said: “Steelers players are always very keen to help out in the community and do anything that helps them to give back. Hockey players are very grounded individuals and will always go above and beyond to make someone’s day. The guys have been asking to visit Bluebell Wood for a long time. It is great to put smiles on the faces of families who may be having a hard time, particularly at Christmas. We know how amazing the service that Bluebell Wood provides is and we felt it only right to pay a visit to say thank you.” David Hall, Corporate Fundraiser for Bluebell Wood, said: “We’d like to say a big thank you to the Sheffield Steelers for calling in to say hello this Christmas. Visits like this are so welcome because they help make a real difference for our children and young adults as they make Christmas memories with their families.” Manage Cookie Preferences
