How many children can stay at the hospice? We have eight bedrooms for children and young adults, as well as accommodation for families. Can I stay with my child overnight? Of course you can, we welcome families staying at the hospice when their child is here. We have double en-suite bedrooms for families to relax in and each of the children’s bedrooms has a sofa bed, so you can stay in the same room as your child if you wish.
Do I need to stay with my child at the hospice? If your child is coming to Bluebell Wood for their first stay, we ask that a parent is present. After that, we are happy for parents to bring their children to stay with us by themselves, so you can take a break while we care for your child.
What are short breaks? These are short breaks at our hospice which give you the chance to recharge your batteries whilst being able to come and go from Bluebell Wood as you wish. What services does Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice offer? The support we give to families depends entirely on your needs. Expand We offer a whole range of services for children and their families. We care for children and young adults with a range of life limiting conditions. Our services include short breaks and day care in the hospice, as well as at home. Sibling support is also at the heart of our work, as well as counselling and bereavement support services for families. As we are currently reopening our care services we are not providing end of life care, but we're working hard to make sure we're able to do so as soon as possible.
