The West Yorkshire Division of the order of the Red Cross of Constantine have kindly donated £2,500 to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice to support children whose lives are sadly just too short.

The community-spirited Masonic Order delivered the cheque to the hospice recently, which came courtesy of the Grand Sovereign Care for Children Fund.

The West Yorkshire Division applied to the national fund on Bluebell Wood’s behalf, which is designed to support children and families affected by circumstances beyond their control.

Samantha Wood, Head of Fundraising at Bluebell Wood, said: “We’d to say a huge thank you to the Order and the Grand Sovereign Care for Children fund for their humbling kindness and support.

“This incredibly generous donation means we can continue to help local families make unforgettable memories in the time they have together, whether it’s days, weeks or years.

“As a charity we rely on our supporters so this donation really does mean the world to the families in our care.”

A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire Division said: “One of Masonry's main principles relates to charitable giving.

“I can think of no other local charity that is more worthy of our support and we will continue to support it whenever the opportunity arises."
